Men's Breakfast

Domestic Violence is a men's problem, and men must move to the forefront of the movement to end domestic violence.  As part of the Voices Against Violence 2006 grant to hold perpetrators accountable, The Women's Fund hosted a men's breakfast to engage community leaders in changing our culture to one that does not tolerate abusive behavior in men.  Nationally renowned speaker and author Jackson Katz addressed 30 business and civic leaders on October 3, 2007.  He summarized his work with college athletes to become catalysts for change, and he challenged the men who attended to be proactive in establishing high standards among men.  Jeff Mango, President of Verizon Wireless in Alabama and Georgia, encouraged the businessmen to establish workplace policies to keep victims safe and hold perpetrators accountable.
